Privacy Policy of the University of Wrocław

In accordance with Annex No. 2 (to the Regulations of webpages of the University of Wrocław) of Ordinance No. 142/2019 issued by the Rector of the University of Wrocław dated November 19, 2019.

  1. Information concerning the processing of personal data on the webpages of the University of Wrocław
    1. The University of Wrocław attaches particular importance to respecting privacy, including the privacy of users visiting the University’s webpages.
    2. The University of Wrocław is located at pl. Uniwersytecki 1, 50-137 Wrocław and is the administrator of personal data in accordance with GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC). The University of Wrocław is obliged to ensure that the personal data of the users of the University’s webpages is processed in accordance with the above regulation. 
    3. A data protection officer is employed by the University and can be contacted via the e-mail address: IOD@uwr.edu.pl.
    4. If any data that may be considered personal is collected when using the University’s webpages, then the University observes the principles set out in GDPR and other data protection regulations, and in particular ensures that:
      1. the processing was lawful, fair and transparent, and the data was collected for specific, legitimate purposes;
      2. only essential and correct data will be collected and only for the time necessary;
      3. the processing of personal data is carried out in a safe, risk-based manner.
    5. User data collected via the University’s webpages may only be transferred to authorized individuals, verified entities with whom relevant agreements have been concluded, and entities authorized to obtain them according to applicable law.
    6. The University of Wrocław makes sure that any individual acting under its authority who has access to personal data can only process it on the instruction of the University.
    7. The University of Wrocław is committed to ensure that the rights of the users of its webpages (regarding the processing of personal data) are properly fulfilled, and in particular that:
      1. communication is transparent;
      2. the appropriate information and access to personal data is provided;
      3. legitimate requests made by users of the University webpages, including the rectification and deletion of data and the right to object to data processing, are fulfilled.
    8. The University of Wrocław is committed to fulfill all the obligations provided for in GDPR and other data protection regulations; however, users of the University’s webpages have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection.
  2. Information regarding cookies on the webpages of the University of Wrocław.
    1. The private data of users is not distributed or transferred to other entities.
    2. When visiting university webpages, cookies may be saved. These cookies can contain, among other things: the user’s IP number, the user’s internet provider, the way the user navigates on University webpages (e.g. what tabs he opens), the name of the user’s internet browser.
    3. Cookies can be deactivated or completely disabled by the users in their browser settings. However, turning cookies off will prevent the user from logging in to the website, as this functionality requires working cookies.
    4. The number of visits to our website is monitored by Google Analytics in order to collect data regarding the popularity of our website and how it is used. By accepting our cookie policy, you consent to the analysis of your data by Google Analytics.
